Thriving Plants This Summer

The annual plants germinate in spring and thrive throughout the summer alongside the perennials. The plants are undeterred by drought conditions. New Zealand spinach, tamarillo, cape gooseberry, Malabar spinach, nasturtium, sweet potato leaves, and various herbs are primed for harvest. The plants’ growth rate is impressively rapid and robust compared to spring. Summer provides many opportunities for creating diverse dishes, including vibrant vegetable stir fries, juicy fresh fruit, and colourful vegetable salads.
