Tree kale and collards are hardy and can be propagated from cuttings in our mild subtropical winters. Providing shelter from extreme temperatures and dry winds can help improve rooting and success rates. We collected our kale and collard cuttings in the last week of May, kept them in semi-shade in a sheltered location, and watered them once a week. The pictures below show the collard cutting after the collection after rooting in less than a month. The parent plants rebounded from the cutting within a month. #LoveHomeGrown
