West Indian (Mexican/ Key lime) is a productive medium-sized tree. It has small-sized, seedy tree fruits that are used in fruit cocktails. Hence the name Bartender’s lime. It is also used in pickles. It has a good shelf life without refrigeration—a very low-maintenance tree. Like many citrus trees, it is drought and heat-tolerant. Add compost thrice yearly or four times if it bears fruits continuously or if potted. Water once or twice weekly.
