Potato Mint
However, potato mint continued to spread steadily, even when the soil remained wet for weeks.
Moreover, its creeping habit allowed it to anchor the ground despite the low light.
Oregano
Meanwhile, oregano held its structure and colour, even as neighbouring plants slowed their growth.
Therefore, it remained one of the most reliable ground covers throughout the season.
Catnip
Even so, catnip surprised me the most, especially since it is a new addition this year.
Instead of faltering in the wettest period, it adapted quickly and grew with impressive strength.
Because these herbs endured when others paused, they now lead this season’s gallery of thriving ground cover.
