Bay leaf is a popular herb used to add flavour to soups, stews, and sauces. Propagation of bay leaf is by taking semi-hardwood cuttings or sowing seeds, but germination is unpredictable. Water the plant moderately, keeping the soil moist but not soggy. When the plants are small, especially during winter, protect them from cold, dry winds. Ensure there is good air circulation to reduce the risk of disease.
